Lane Leahy has navigated a career path as prolific as it is unpredictable. From her first failed application at a hamburger drive-in at age thirteen to her most recent role remotely training artificial intelligence for a tech firm, Lane has spent a lifetime mastering the never-ending quest for employment. Despite her initial intention not to join the “real world,” her resume has grown alongside her collection of absurd professional encounters. She’s shocked at just how many job titles she’s managed to collect; she has fired off more applications than she can count, and while she actually landed a few, she’s the first to admit that getting hired wasn’t always a win. Still, her resume lengthened concurrently while she spent way too much time chasing those menial titles for enough income to stay in a rundown apartment in a sketchy building on the corner of a questionably safe neighborhood bordering another questionably safe neighborhood on the north side of Chicago.
